ABOUT US
The Albanian American Muslim Youth Organization (AAMYA) is a youth organization based at the Albanian American Islamic Center of Queens dedicated to nurture Islam within the youth. Our goal is to develop a community where young Albanian-American Muslims feel a sense of belonging and desire to interact with both their heritage and faith. Through religious, cultural, academic, and social initiatives, we strive to foster unity, understanding, and empowerment within our New York City community.
"Rooted In Heritage, United By Faith"
Our Story
The AAMYA team first came together on October 8th during a gathering to honor the birth of Prophet Muhammad SAW on Mawlid. This meeting planted the seed for what would grow into our vibrant community. Recognizing the need to bridge the gap for Albanian Americans with both their heritage and, importantly, their Islamic faith, we have strived to foster a deep connection between these crucial aspects of identity. Driven by a shared vision, we aim to create a space where members can embrace their cultural heritage, embody Islamic values, and foster mutual support through dialogue. Our mission has fervently grown from these blessed beginnings, continuously driven by the spirit of unity and faith.
